If you’ve ever taken a trip to Las Vegas, you know there are fun activities for everyone. Just because there is a romantic holiday coming up, doesn’t mean the fun in Las Vegas stops for everyone else on Valentine’s day. While it might be the Marriage Capital of the World perfect for couples in Vegas, it is also the Entertainment Capital as well. That means you can celebrate the holiday in any way you want to.
Whether you are looking for crazy things to do in Las Vegas for couples, want to plan a “Galentine’s Day” girls’ getaway, or simply want to treat your single self – Vegas has you covered. Keep reading for Taste Buzz’s local guide to celebrating Valentine’s day.
#1 Explore Hidden Gems With Taste Buzz
Taste Buzz was created because I wanted to bring people off the Strip and into the local community of Las Vegas. A Taste Buzz walking food tour is a unique date idea in Las Vegas because you will get to try restaurants and explore the Vegas most tourists miss. My Vegas food tours are a great way to learn about the hidden history of the city while indulging in tastings from spots you won’t find in a tour book.
Getting off the beaten path with your date is a great way to experience real Vegas. Taste Buzz’s high-energy tour guides are also experts at helping the group mingle. You’ll notice on the tours that they seem to know everyone in town! So even if you are flying solo this Valentine’s Day, you will make instant friends with a Taste Buzz walking food tour in Las Vegas.
#2 Take A Ride On The Wild Side
If you are looking for crazy things to do in Las Vegas for couples, look no further than the Thrill Rides at the Strat. Adventure-seekers love the rides at the Strat. Get your heart pumping on an insanely fun roller coaster. Or test your courage and jump off the 829-foot building overlooking the neon lights of Vegas.
Some couples like to take the extra mile on Valentine’s day. Want to do something really crazy while you are in Vegas? Take the biggest leap and get hitched at the iconic Little Vegas Chapel!
#3 Spend The Night In A Glamorous Las Vegas Hotel
Most people’s favorite thing about this city is that you can go from a crazy night out to living in luxury at one of the many romantic hotels in Las Vegas.
One of the best hotels in Vegas for couples is the Venetian. The rooms are drop-dead gorgeous and offer comfortable beds and room to stretch out. They are even hosting a few Valentine’s Day specials at their restaurants in Las Vegas.
For an extra unique experience, add on a gondola ride for your special someone. It will feel like you’ve been transported to the canals of northern Italy. Relax as you drift along listening to the gondolier serenade you with romantic tunes. The combination of elegance and fun makes the Venetian one of the most romantic hotels in Las Vegas!
Maybe you are more of a nature lover. If you want to still be close to the heart of Vegas but get breathtaking views from your hotel window, book with Red Rock Resort. With sweeping views of the surrounding majestic mountains and their very own bowling alley, this is the perfect hotel for a girls’ getaway or guys’ trip!
Going solo for the holiday? You can still enjoy an elegant hotel on your own. Treat yourself to a night of independence by ordering room service, some chocolate strawberries, and a bottle of champagne. On holidays all about romance, the luxury of pampering is the best way to show yourself some love!
#4 Enjoy A Low Key Day In A Fun Vegas Brewery
Sometimes you just want to sit back, have a beer and enjoy good company. A local favorite for grabbing a beer is Able Baker Brewery. This low-key spot includes craft local beers, an Arts District Kitchen with great food, and an adorable rubber-duck mascot. It is a fun place in Las Vegas to get away from the tourist crowds to relax a bit.
If you are feeling up for another brewery, you’re in luck. CraftHaus is just down the street and during the cooler months like February, it is a breeze to walk on over. Be sure to pick up a pack for later – the artwork on the cans alone is worth it!
If you are new to the area or just visiting, a great way to explore the Arts District is with a food tour. They will show you around and point out all the great spots before you head over to the breweries! That way, you’ll have a bunch of things to talk about while you enjoy your beer!
#5 Take An Exhilarating Dance Class
Want to go dancing in Vegas but not ready to hit the dance floor on your own? Want to learn a few moves first? Then try going to one of Las Vegas’ best dance classes.
A unique date idea in Las Vegas is to take a beginner Bachata class at Rhythms. They will give you the tools and steps to feel confident moving with your partner on the dance floor. If you are flying solo or with a group of friends, check out an intro to silks class at Craft Motions. A group of us checked out an aerial silk class a while back and it was full of fun, laughter, and challenging flexibility. Get ready to feel sexy in this class but be ready for some sore forearms the next day!
Holiday Tip: If you and your partner couldn’t find a babysitter, no worries. You can still dance it out at home. One idea is to follow J-Lo’s lead and let your kiddos be the instructor for the night. That way they will feel included and everyone can have a good laugh!
#6 Savour Delicious Cocktails and Savory Food
For romantic Valentine’s day dinner ideas in Las Vegas, head to either Jammyland or Edo Gastro Tapas & Wine. Both spots offer deliciously crafted cocktails in a vibrant atmosphere. Jammyland serves up Jamaican-inspired food with an innovative twist and if you like rum, you will LOVE their cocktails. Edo is another great spot and has some of the best Spanish tapas in Las Vegas. Seriously, each delicious bite and sip of sangria transports you to the streets of Barcelona. The best part about Edo is that it also has a full vegan menu, making it the perfect spot for anyone to eat.
If you’re looking to get out from the hustle and bustle of downtown and the strip, you should check out Herbs & Rye. It is one of the most fun cocktail lounges in Las Vegas and serves up a mean steak if you eat meat. When you walk in, it feels like you’ve gone back in time to America’s speakeasy era! – All great places and some of my personal favorite places to visit
#7 Take A Cooking Class
What better way to spend a date night in Vegas than by learning to make sushi?! This Valentine’s day special is a great way to connect with your partner and make some mouthwatering food. Cozymeals’ Chef Keith will walk you through making each part of the meal, step-by-step. You can bring your own beer and wine as well to make it an even more exciting night!
Have Big Fun No Matter What Your Budget Is
Vegas can get expensive pretty quickly. If you are looking for romantic places in Las Vegas that will wow your partner without breaking the bank, then try one of these cheap date ideas.
# 8 Host A Charcuterie Night
Grab a bottle of wine and a variety of cheeses and meats for a DIY charcuterie night at the hotel or home. I’ve found some great, inexpensive wine and cheese options at Trader Joe’s when planning a cheap date night in Vegas. To support a local shop, grab some specialty olive oil and vinegar at The Olive Branch on East Fremont. They are delicious to dip bread in. This is a great idea for a romantic night in with your partner or it can be a great way to cut costs on a group trip.
Want to simplify your charcuterie night? A great local spot to pick one up from is Valley Cheese and Wine. They have many different boards to pick from if you aren’t up for making one yourself. Or, you can take their special Valentine’s Day class and learn how to put together an impressive charcuterie board that is almost too pretty to eat. This means you can make your cheese and wine night as fancy or low-key as you’d like!
# 9 Get Crafty With It
Forgot to get your partner Valentine’s day gift? No worries, make it look planned by booking a table at Corks and Crafts. There you can be super thoughtful and make each other’s gifts. The shop provides everything you need to work on a crafty project.
Another great option is to book a sip-and-paint night with Pinot’s Palette. You’ll have everything you need to make a masterpiece right there at the shop. Need a little liquid courage to get started? Stop by their bar to grab a glass of wine or a bottle of beer! Making something from scratch is a sweet way to spend time with others and it is a bunch of fun!
# 10 Explore A Totally Free Vegas Activity
For a completely free and very fun Valentine’s day, take a walk through The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat. The holy grail of cheap date ideas Las in Vegas, this free activity is often overlooked because tourists expect it would cost money! It is just that much fun. Walk through the habitat and you’ll quickly realize that you’re in a little slice of paradise at this tropical oasis. It is also one of the most photographic spots in Vegas. So if you’re looking to get some cute pics, this is the place to be.
A quick 10-minute walk from the habitat is another one of the completely free romantic places in Las Vegas. Swing by the Bellagio Fountains for a spectacular show sure to wow your date. From 3 p.m. -8 p.m. they operate every 30 minutes and then from 8 p.m. until midnight, you can catch them every 15. This world-renowned fountain show is not to be missed!
